The first way I can suggest involves a lot of reading on your part. You have to brush up on the subject and apply what you have read. There are many library books and Internet-based resources covering this particular (increasingly-popular) subject. It is a given that if you are truly interested in finding out the intricacies of building an app, you should invest a lot of your time reading up on the subject. There are two forms of reading that are available to you and you can simply choose which one you prefer. In the first form of reading, you will be reading up on and studying the different programming languages that are commonly used in app creation. For the most part, if you are to be in a position to build app that can be used on mobile computing devices, you will have to be proficient in programming languages such as Java and C++. It is not easy learning these programming languages. However, all that hardship will be worth it once you have gotten the hang of it. Building an app is considered as both a science and an art, and the specialized topics involved are the focus of the second form of reading. Just being a good Java or C++ programmer may not be enough for you to develop apps. You would still have to do some more reading on more varied topics before you become good enough to come up with useful apps.

The next way would be to make use of online forums. Here you will be able to get many information from app builders who are willing to share their notes on how to build an app. From their shared experiences as well as brainstorming online, you are bound to pick up on a lot of things that would be beneficial to building an app. But if you are to understand the conversations going on in these forums, you need to have undertaken some basic reading on the whole subject of app development. If you don't do at least that, you will find all those conversations going over your head and you won't understand a single thing that is being said. All in all though, these forums can be helpful to you, if you are seeking to sharpen your app-development skills.

The third way would be through experimentation, where you will be doing some application in app-building. If you have some understanding of the programming languages used in app development, you can opt to learn the specific art of building apps through experimentation. Creativity is something that every app developer should have in order to come up with the best apps. Experimentation will sharpen that creativity. Your preparedness and your ability to rise up to challenges would also be honed if you apply the trial and error method in learning how to build an app.

You can choose any method with which you can learn how to build an app; after all, they all work. However, you should practice if you want to be proficient enough. Programming plays a central role in developing an app. A good programmer does not get to where he is without a large amount of practice on his part.
